He looked at the slightly smaller apprentice as he ran, leaving him in the middle of the danger. Pepperpaw had run off and left him in the den of the elders. He was told that they would be putting a live mouse in the elders' den, but Pepperpaw had left at the last second. 

Luxpaw would be caught. Luxpaw would do anything to escape this.
