Jett felt giddy when leaving the Medical Ward. Sage had sent her out because she had needed to treat a few of her patients. Claiming that Jett would 'distract' her too much while at work. Jett noted the dark blush on Sage's cheeks while she said that.

Jett didn't mind having to leave Sage for a little. It gave her a chance to have some alone time and visit Raze which she hadn't seen in a while.

She tiptoed over to Raze's room and knocked silently. She saw the doorknob jiggle before it opened, showing a tired Raze.

"Jett? What are you doing up? Shouldn't you be resting?" Raze asked.

Jett shook her head and barged it, "Nope, I'm fine. Thanks to Sage.."

"Uh oh, I know that face. You did something that's making you all hyper. Tell me now"

Jett giggled and flopped onto Raze's bed in a starfish form, "I did something..that I don't think I would ever have the guts to do. But I did it?"

"What? Eat sardines?"

"No! Never in my life!"

"Then what is it!"

Jett looked over at Raze's face and sighed again, "So, you know Sage right?"

"Of course I do, I've been working with her for two years, you dingus"

Jett snorted, "We may or may not have.. did it"

Raze almost choked on her air and stared at Jett with a surprised yet concerned expression, "You did what?! Like, do...do it?"

"Yep!"

"Woah Woah, you guys just reunited. How are you guys already jumping to the nasty!" Raze had a look of utter astonishment, "I didn't even know Sage was that..freaky"

"What do you mean nasty? We just kissed.."

Raze let out an exasperated sigh and hit Jett in the shoulder lightly, "Really, Jett?!"

"What? Why are you freaking out?"

"Because! You made it sound like you guys had sex! You could have just said, 'we kissed' and I wouldn't have reacted as bad! 'Doing it' is another word for having sex, Jett"

Jett's lips formed into an 'o' and realized what Raze meant, "Oooh, good to know! Thanks for letting me know!"

Raze cursed under her breath for Jett's nonchalant answers to the subject of sex.

"Do you know what sex is? Or how it works..?"

Jett's eyes bolted to Raze's and her cheeks lit up now, "W-What? Of course, I do...we did have a sex-ed in school y'know?"

"Okay, just making sure. Do you know how lesbian sex-"

"Don't-! Finish that sentence...I do not know how it works, and I never plan to figure out how it works because I don't think Sage will be comfortable with it"

"What do you mean? Don't jump to conclusions plus, being a lesbian, you should know how all the shenanigans go"

"But...It's embarrassing. I mean, don't you just stick your fingers-"

Jett eventually left Raze's room pretty much scarred. She hadn't expected to learn all of the terminologies and was genuinely surprised at how much Raze knew about..all the..sex stuff...

Jett rubbed a hand over her face and sighed. She couldn't believe that she and Raze had that conversation from just talking about her and Sage's first kiss. She eventually made her way back to the Medical ward and knocked on it.

The door swung open softly and Sage appeared in the doorway with a bright smile, "Jett, I was hoping you were getting back soon"

Jett hobbled herself into Sage's arms and mumbled, "Well, I'm here. Sorry it took me so long, I was taking a visit to Raze's"

Sage patted Jett's head and smiled, "No worries, what were you two up to?"

"Raze uh, never mind. We were just talking about whatever, and I kind of told her about us..?"

Sage instantly felt a wave of fear wash over her, and pushed on Jett's shoulders softly to get her to look at her, "Jett"

Jett seemed a little surprised and looked at Sage, "Huh?"

"Please do not go around telling everyone that we..kissed"

"What? Why? I only told one person-"

"If it gets around to other people...I don't want to get in trouble for dating my teammate. Plus, I'm not exactly out...to anyone yet"

"I understand the not being out part, but why would we get in trouble? It's not like it would interfere with us"

"That's just it, we don't know if it will interfere between us. I don't want to lose what we just started and if everyone knows about it..maybe people will try to stop it. I'm sorry, Jett. I'm just scared of any possibility of losing you" Sage sighed.

Jett began to understand and nodded, "Okay, I'll go and tell Raze to keep her mouth shut"

She turned her back but was caught by a warm hand, urging her to turn around, "Please don't be mad.."

Jett smiled and shook her head, "I'm not mad. I was just confused at first, but you helped me understand. I wouldn't get mad at you over something like this"

"Okay.." Sage still seemed reluctant to let Jett go but she knew she had to. She watched Jett give her classic thumbs up and leave the room.

"Okay, she won't say a word," Jett said proudly, walking up to Sage's desk where she sat indulged in her work.

"That's good, and Jett?"

"Mmm?"

"Don't take offense to what I said..please? I am doing it for our own good" Sage continued to press the matter from earlier.

Jett smiled, "I know, I won't. You can stop worrying about it, I told you I wouldn't make a big deal about it"

Sage uncrossed her legs and walked up to Jett. Jett could feel her cheeks flare up when she saw Sage inspecting her face. She couldn't tell what Sage was doing, so she went with the only thing she knew. She went up to press her lips to Sage, only to be surprised when Sage retracted.

Jett tilted her head, "huh?"

"What are you doing?"

"Oh um-, I thought you were- asking.." Jett then shoved her hands into the palms of her face in utter embarrassment.

Sage laughed then, "Oh, Jett. I was just seeing if any of the injuries from yesterday were healed. Also, I recall us saying that we would have our second kiss in a much better place than here"

Jett remembered and sighed into her palms, "That's right. My bad...I'm not good at this whole 'reading signals' or 'knowing when the time is right' kind of thing"

"That's okay. I think you will know when the time is right as our relationship progresses, I'm still new at the whole relationship too"

Jett frowned, "But you've had a relationship before me.."

"It didn't get that serious, Jett"

"Yeah, and I still want to punch that dude for taking your precious heart and throwing it onto the ground like it was nothing" Jett growled.

"You're so cute when you're mad" Sage cooed, tapping Jett's cheek with her index finger.

Jett puffed her cheeks out and looked down, "I want to talk to you about something"

"And that is..?"

"Sex"

Sage almost wanted to jump back at the word and stared at Jett with an even more shocking gaze than Raze had, "What..about it?"

"Raze brought it up, and she said I should know all this stuff about it. Is that true? I mean, she already kind of taught me all of it, but I wanted to know if it was necessary"

"Well, knowing the human body and..areas of sexual pleasure is important when your relationship gets to an intimate level. So yes, to an extent it is good to have that knowledge in the back of your brain"

"Are we going to have sex?"

Sage sighed, "You talk so calmly about this subject"

"Well...I want to know?"

Sage chewed on her lower lip, "Well- It's not that I don't want to do it. But it's not like we're going to have sex in the first couple hours of our relationship...or weeks. It's as long as we're comfortable with each other and have gained a deep level of connection, I'd say..yes. We would probably have done it by then"

Jett took in Sage's words and nodded, "O-Okay. I'll try to get us a deep level of connection-"

"Jett, that stuff comes naturally. We already share a deep connection, we just have to further that so that we're more comfortable with each other" Sage hummed.

Jett looked confused, "But I already am comfortable with you"

"Are you really comfortable with showering with me?"

Jett's face heated up and she tried to imagine it, but she kept getting flustered.

Sage laughed, "See, that's the stuff you share with your significant other on an intimate level. So, until we're ready to do actions like that, we should keep our relationship to a minimum"

It took a bit harder for Sage to get Jett to understand but she eventually did. Sage didn't mind helping out Jett with her lack of knowledge, just surprised by how much she didn't know about relationships. Then again, Jett wasn't the dating type.

"Since that topic is over now, are you feeling better? I know all your healing drains you" Jett asked.

Sage ran a tired hand through her hair, accidentally hitting her knuckles against her ponytail, "Phoenix was very reckless this time and I suppose it did take a bit more energy than usual, but other than that...I'm okay"

Jett rolled over to Sage with another chair and sat next to her, "That's good. I think you should take a break though, it looks like you're doing a lot of paperwork right now"

"I just started on the paperwork so I can't fall behind, but I'll make sure to have breaks in between" Sage promised while watching Jett tap a pen on her hand.

Jett groaned and tapped the pen up Sage's arm, "But what am I going to do? You get all bossy when you do paperwork"

"That's only because you're distracting"

"That's only because it's boring and I want to entertain myself" Jett fought back, watching the pen getting snatched from her hand and thrown at her face playfully.

"Hey!" She whined.

"Why don't you go check up on Phoenix while he's recovering in his room. Maybe I'll be taking a break by the time you get back"

Jett hopped up and nodded, "Yes ma'am, I'll be back in a bit"

"Don't cause too much trouble"

"Can't promise anything like that"

While visiting Phoenix, it was like nothing changed. They'd still talk about nonsense, play video games, and play jokes on the team as if the past never mattered to Phoenix. Luckily, Sage's healing had him pumped and fully healed. So, that made the hangout with Phoenix more fun and worthwhile.

Phoenix eventually had to leave downtown to a park to play basketball with Yoru. Jett didn't mind and glad that Phoenix was able to forgive Yoru and move on from their differences. It reminded her of her and Sage for some odd reason.

As she made her way back to the Medical ward, she heard something. The sound of buzzing around her ear. She instantly turned around to see nothing but empty air and a long hallway. She sighed and continued to walk forward. But as she continued to walk, the buzzing noise grew louder and louder until she couldn't take it.

The noise was starting to ring in her ear and it made her begin to lose focus of where she was going. The last thing she remembered doing was reaching the end of the hallway and slumping against the medical ward door.

She could barely hear the door opening and the sound of Sage's gasp

"Jett? Are you okay now?"

Jett frowned and rubbed the inside of her ear before hopping down the bed with a nod, "Yeah, what was that thing?"

Sage inspected the mechanical bug. "It seems Hench decided to leave something in you and it malfunctioned in the process. It looks like a tracker of some sort, maybe even a spy camera"

"How would a camera even see forward if it was in my ear? All it would see is my nasty ear-wax"

Sage shrugged, "Then that rules out the possibility of it being a camera. I may have to take it to Cypher to get it checked out"

Jett nodded and rubbed her eyes, "I'm sorry for causing so much trouble. I didn't think he would try and plant some bug in me.."

Sage smiled and gently pushed Jett's chin up with the tips of her fingers, "You have nothing to apologize for. What Hench did was out of your control, and you didn't even realize the tracker in your ear until now"

"Yeah..that's true. But still, It seems like I've brought nothing but trouble to the team" Jett sighed.

"Not everything at Protocol goes perfect. If I had to be honest, I think it makes things less boring around here since all we ever do is go fight battles in arenas. Fighting outside gives us a sense of freedom. So not everything trouble you've brought is necessarily bad"

Jett nodded at Sage's words, taking the chip and inspecting it closely, " I understand. Also, do you think I should bring this to Cypher?"

"I can do it if you want?"

"No, I think me and Cypher need to talk. We haven't been on the best terms since the argument we had"

"I think he was way out of line. You were only trying to help and he was just..belittling you. It hurt to watch him do that.." Sage mumbled sadly.

Jett squeezed Sage's hand, "I don't think I ever thanked you for doing that. It meant a lot to me at the time, but I could see where he was coming from. He had every right to be angry when I froze up like that.."

"That reminds me, why did you freeze up?"

"Because...I saw you. A literal mirroring image of you, Sage. It was hard to shoot a person that looked just like you. It was as if I held a gun up to your head right now and had to shoot you. That's how I felt"

Sage took in Jett's words, "I suppose you're right. It took me a while to get used to shooting clones of my own teammates, but eventually, I got used to it and told myself they were only clones and not real people"

"That'll definitely take a while for me.."

"Don't worry, you will get used to it as you battle more and more"

"If you say so"

Jett still felt a little uneasy about the whole talk but brushed it to the side so that she didn't have to worry about it for the rest of today.

"Cypher isn't a big fan of people entering his room at night, so I say you go and visit him right now before it gets late"

"Oh right, okay. Wish me luck"

Sage winked at her and gave her a reassuring shoulder pat, "He's a real sweetheart once you get to know him. Just be yourself and don't get intimidated"

"You got it, Chief"

"What do you want?"

Jett gulped and stared at the low-lit cyan eyes that were eyeing her up and down. Clearly, Jett stayed silent for too long because she saw the door beginning to close.

"Wait!"

Just before the door closed, Cypher kept it open and waited for Jett to speak.

"I- I know you don't like me but-"

"I didn't ask you to come and make amends with me. Just leave me be"

"Can't you just listen to what I have to say for once? It's something that I think is important"

Cypher let out an annoyed sigh and reopened the door, "Okay, what is it? Make it quick, I don't like to be disturbed-"

"At night I know. That's fine with me, I just found out that there was this mechanical bug placed in my ear. I thought you may know if it's a tracker?"

Cypher looked at Jett's hand and carefully took the mechanical bug between his fingers. He swiftly turned around and walked back into his room.

Jett grew anxious waiting outside and went to peak in. She was surprised to see more tech than even Raze or Killjoy has in their room. His room had surveillance cameras and wires at every corner of the room.

"What are you waiting for? Come in and shut the door"

Jett complied and made sure not to trip on any wires while walking in. She walked over to Cypher's desk where he tinkered with the piece of equipment.

"Yep, that's a tracker all right. We will have to disable it..maybe I can see where the source of the tracker is coming from"

"I think It's from Hench. There is no doubt that he put that thing in me.."

Cypher stayed silent and continued to find where the location of the source for the mechanical bug.

"It seems as that the location is blocked and needs bypass. Arg, this will take longer than it needs to. I'll have to download a bunch of software, I suggest you head back to your room since staying here will be pointless. I have to leave soon anyways as well" Cypher explained, getting up and opening the door for Jett.

Jett gulped and slowly walked towards the door, "Listen..can we talk for a second"

"About what? I told you I'm not up for chit chat"

"It'll be quick. I just want to apologize for what happened on Icebox. I know I ticked you off and I promise I mean no harm to the team, and..you have every right to still not trust me. But, I would just like to say that I never hated you or anything like that"

Cypher stayed silent for a moment before speaking, "...Thank you"

Jett nodded and decided to leave the conversation there, making her way out the door only to stop when Cypher spoke again.

"And..I never hated you as well. I just found it hard to trust you after what happened on Icebox. It was very..unprofessional of me. I think you deserve an apology as well"

Jett was surprised to hear the apology from Cypher, "That..means a lot. Thanks, Cypher"

Cypher tipped his hat down as a response and watched Jett smile at him before walking back the way she came from.

"Mmh, Jett is that you" Sage mumbled into the dark.

Jett slowly poked her head into the Medical Ward after knocking, first seeing the darkened room and then Sage's body moving in one of the beds. She walked into the room slowly and approached the bed Sage was laying in.

"Are you going to take a nap?"

"Yes, but I want you to nap with me"

Jett smiled, "But I'm not sleepy"

"I don't care. At least sleep next to me" Sage pouted

Jett laughed and leaned in to press a kiss to Sage's cheek, "You look like a baby right now"

Sage blushed and reached out her arms to pull Jett up onto the bed. Jett was surprised by Sage's strength, having managed to pull most of her body up. Jett eventually gave in and laid close to Sage, feeling her instantly move in to tuck her head under Jett's chin.

"What made you so clingy all of a sudden? Also...I'm allowed to kiss your cheek right?"

"Of course you can, and I don't know. I tried to nap and it seems I can't sleep that well without you. You are like my little pillow"

"Hey-!"

"Shh, I want to sleep now"

Jett gave up her protest and instinctively wrapped her arms around Sage and rested her chin atop Sage's head, "Sleep well, Sage"
