It is with great excitement and delight that we welcome you back to Versification 2026! With new ideas, structure and challenges, we are excited to launch this year's contest.

National Poetry Month is highly celebrated, based in April, giving praise and recognition to poets all over the world and across centuries.

The month of April is when we run Versification. Versification is a contest where we challenge the poet to write a new entry for every day of April.

Additionally, it challenges poets to write in some of the unique forms of poetry in our daily challenges.

We hope you join us, writing unique and witty entries every single day of April.

We will be taking the challenge a step further, incorporating not only prompts for poetry but also challenging you to write the epic poetry, villanelle or prose as a part of the challenge prompts. Sestina is also accepted. The challenge prompt focuses on the longer structures of poetry.

We are excited to see what this contests holds!
