The Dirt Man returned with another, both having backpacks strapped to their backs.

The one I met first comes up to me, shoving an extra pack into my hands.

"Sid, this is... uh... who are you?" The first on asked, turning to me.

"Uniqua." I replied.

"Sid, this is Uniqua. Uniqua, this is Sid, my friend."

Sid gave a wave. "Hey. Well.. thought this world was going to close.. never expected it to be so soon."

There was a sense of sadness in his tone.

"Why do you think the author would want to close our book?" Sid asked. "Did we do something wrong?"

I could not answer the question.

"Uhh... whatsurname? I thought you said you knew two people." I say, trying to break the subject.

"Im Mid." He replied. "And yeah, two people. Me and Sid."

"Mm... right..."

Why not say so then?

"We better get going. Its already the third chapter. Meaning the distance has increased." I say, pulling on the pack.

"Alright." Mid nodded. "Lets go."

Sid looked back, staring at the village. "I wished theyd come with us."

"They'll be happier here." Mid sighed. "They wont be affected if the book is closed. They're used to life here."

Sid accepted this sadly and we started off.

"So.. which way?"

I peered as far as I could, staring past the village.

"Oh you've got to be kidding." I growl.

"Whats wrong?" Sid asked.

"Oh nothing. Just that the author just put a FRIKIN VOLCANO"

Mid stared at the volcano, saying one word. "Oh."

"Im guessing we're going anyway... right?" Sid guessed.

"Yeap." I swallowed my rage, gesturing the two to follow.

"Come on, lets go."
