Volcanic ash fills my lungs, sweat rolling off me, making me sticky and uncomfortable.

"UGh I hate the author. I hate the author. I hate the author." I mutter, leading the two Dirt men through the cave intwining through the volcano.

"I donno, it isn't THAT bad." Sid mused.

"You're made of DIRT. You don't SWEAT." I grumble.

"True." Sid grinned.

I roll my eyes, trudging through the humid chamber.

I rubbed the soot from my eyes and nose, careful not to breathe in the stale air.

"How big is this thing?" I coughed, partially blind.

"I see light up ahead!" Mid called, pointing forwards.

"Lets go!" Sid whooped, racing over.

"WAIT! It could be-"

"AAAAHHHH" Sid screeched waving him arms, pedalling them back in a fury.

"Lava." I finished.

Mid raced over, grabbing his flailing arm, tugging him in.

Both fell onto the dusty ground, huffing.

Being dirt, the smoke didn't affect them.

Lucky.

"Rule number one of being in a volcano, don't run straight towards light."

"How do you know that?" Sid asked, getting up.

"Common sense."

Mid stifled a laugh and Sic chuckled nervously.

"Alright, I think we can make it to the other side." I note, staring at the small stream of lava pouring past.

I stepped forward, moving away from a spurt of the stuff.

I wound up and leapt over, as far as I could, safely rolling onto the other bank.

"Come on, lets go!" I called from my side.

Sid and Mid looked at the steady stream of fiery water cautiously.

"WHOAH!" Mid yelped, jumping over. He staggered on the other end from the huge leap, but was otherwise fine.

"Come on, Sid! Lets go!"

Sid trembled, staring at the stream he had nearly dived into earlier.

"Its alright. You can jump PROPERLY across." I assured him.

Drawing in a deep breath, he hurtled himself forward, propelling himself over the lava,

right into me and Mid.

We fell back, rolling head over legs, a tangle of bodies as we rolled down the steep slope.

"WAAAAAAAHHHHHH" We screamed, unable to see as thing as we fell into the unknown darkness.
