Sandkit's POV

I watched as Mistkit ran out of the Nursery.I looked at Daisy to see her groan.Rosepetal was sighing.I padded up to Rosepetal.

"Why does Mistkit have to be this way?"I asked her.

"Because she isn't you."Rosepetal purred.

"The clans would like her better if she was."I mewed.

Before Rosepetal could reply we heard a scream.It was Bramblestar screaming Mistkit's name.

"Great."I heard Rosepetal mumble as she walked out of the Nursery.

As Rosepetal left Ambermoon entered."Wow...it sure is crowed."Ambermoon softly mewed.

"Don't tell me-"Lilyheart began to say happily.

"Yup!I'm expecting kits!"Ambermoon mewed.

Daisy,Lilyheart and Dovewing gathered around,congratulating her.

"Who's the father?"Dovewing asked.

"Fernsong!"She purred,"I'm going to be expecting the kits in a moon."

"Ahh,I'll be an apprentice by then!"Leafkit sighed.

"Don't worry,you'll still get to see them."Ambermoon said.

"I can't wait till I get to be a queen!I'd love to have kits!"Leafkit purred,happily glancing at me.

I wrinkled my nose and curled my tail over my paws.Does she like me?!I don't like her that way though!

"Eww,I'd hate to be responsible for kits like Mistkit!"Larkkit mewed.

"I feel the same way as Larkkit!I'd hate it!"Duskkit mewed,moving closer to Larkkit.

I looked over to Stormkit,he looked like he was about to cry.Why are kits my age already being heart-broken by love?!It's mouse-brained!

"I don't get what's so good about love!"I blurted.

Everycat looked at me.Leafkit frowned a bit but then smiled."Love is amazing!It makes you all fluttery!"Leafkit purred,staring into my eyes.

"But you're just a kit!How would you know about 'mate' love?"I asked.

"Cats can fall in love at all sorts of ages!"Ambermoon exclaimed.

I snorted,"I don't ever want kits!"

Leafkit looked at me with hurt eyes and silently whimpered.I looked back at her,frowning a bit.I didn't want to hurt her.

Suddenly,Rosepetal stormed in the Nursery with Bramblestar and Mistkit hanging from Rosepetal.

"Ambermoon,Jayfeather told me you're expecting kits,congratulations!But all of you have to leave the Nursery,we are expanding it."Bramblestar annouced.

Ambermoon smiled and walked out of the Nursery.Daisy took Mistkit by the scruff and trotted to the Medicine Den.

"Mistkit will help out Jayfeather."Rosepetal mewed.I nodded and I left the Nursery with Leafkit.Honeykit,Larkkit,Duskkit,Sparrowkit,Stormkit and Moonkit followed.

"Why don't you want kits?"Leafkit asked.

"Because I'm a kit."I snorted.

"But when you're older?"

"I don't know..."

Leafkit's eyes filled with happiness.
