Dozing off in the backseat,
I saw her smile, as she sang a little song.
She looked at me as I looked back at the little one.
All snuggled in the back, dreaming of dandelions blowing in the air,
She placed her hand on mine as I continued to steer.
"We're now a family " she expressed with delight,
A kiss so passionate, emotions I could not fight.
Driving out of the ER, our home was about to have a new occupant,
Oh we longed for some beautiful stresses of our little one running around rampant.
We pulled up to the driveway, I assisted my love with the door,
Grabbing the hospital bag from the trunk and seeing her hold our little tyke made me appreciate what was in store even more.
We're snuggled her into her cradle but to my surprise, her little had gripped on to mine,
I wasn't tears but my eyes glared til they stared to shine.
I picked her up and hugged her in a warm embrace,
I began to breakdown overwhelmed by God's grace.
I kissed her little forehead and set her back to rest,
Looking at my wife with absolutely no regrets.
We stood there for over an hour, in each others arms just looking at our creation,
And in that moment, we knew it was just the beginning of an unwavering dedication.
