Chapter 13

Daeran POV

I gasped as Ada walked into the room.

"I'm sorry Ada, I didn't mean...Ada what is this? I mean, I know what it is but.... It looks so familiar." Ada sighed "I was hoping you would never find that."

"Who's, is it?" Ada made his way towards me and sat in front of me. "It was Dumbledore's" The name sent shivers down my spine.

"The evil man that came from the previous world I lived in?" "Yes, when he was defeated there were a few things found on him, so we saved them. The wand was one of those things." What where the other things?" Ada signed

"I guess you deserve to know." Ada stood and moved to one of the trunks near the far wall. I got up and followed. Once at the small trunk I kneeled and opened it. There wasn't much.

There was a pair of glasses, some jewelry, a robe, a gold ball and sort of tube. I picked up the tube, there was some sort of lid. I opened it only to gasp when the fire went out and flowed into the tube. Shocked I opened the contraption again.

Only to have the light escape. "Cool" I put down the tube and picked up the jewelry and examined them. Once done I picked up the gold ball. There didn't seem to be anything special about it.

"What is this?" I asked Ada. Ada shook his head "we're not sure, but it looks to just be a gold ball. We think it may be hollow, but haven't gotten it open. I nodded my head. The ball intrigued me very much.

It had a sort of strange power about it. It felt very similar to the wand. They seemed to call to one another. "Enough of this now, was there a reason you came here tonight?" I put everything into the box, but kept the wand separate.

"Why are these separate when they both came from Dumbledore?" I said indicating the wand and the other items.

"Whenever we place the wand in the box a very large amount of magic flows from them, so we keep them apart. Now why were you here"

"Oh yes, I think I know who the voice belonged to, the one I heard when I healed Arwen. I think It was Saruman." Ada stiffened a little "Are you sure?"

"No, but it's the best thing I can come up with and it sounded familiar."

"Somehow someone has brought Saruman's spirit back from the dead, he doesn't have a body but as you can see he can possess or take control of people. I think this is Sauron's work."

I nodded my head Ada's Theory seemed legit, or it made sense at least. "it's late, why don't we speak more of this in the morning." I nodded my head

"I'll see you in the morning." I left Ada's study and made my way to my room. Legolas was waiting for me when I arrived "You won't believe what just happened." I said crawling close to him on the bed. "What?"

When I was done telling him about what happened I had changed and was now cuddled up with him in the bed. "There is defiantly much to think about. What is your theory about the wand and the gold ball?"

"I think their connected in some way, but I don't know how. But I will find out somehow." I kissed Legolas sweetly before blowing out the candle on the nightstand.

"I love your determination" Legolas said before kissing me again.

Legolas POV

As the days wore on Daeran was certain that the gold ball and the wand were connected. He said he could feel it with his magic.

But he didn't think the gold ball was actually what it was. He was certain there was something inside and had been spending much of the day trying to get it open.

It was crazy the ways he thought of. I worried for him, but if he thought there was more to this gold ball than I had to trust him. He was the one with magic not me.

I also worried about what was happening back at Helms Deep and what Estel and the others were doing.

"LEGOLAS" I turned sharply, Daeran was running towards me. "What's wrong?" I asked "I got the golden ball opened, I don't know if I did it or what because I think it just opened on its own. I don't know it was weird, but it's open.

Daeran led me into Lord Elrond's study. The ball was open and inside was a small black cube. "Do you know what it is?" I asked Daeran shook his head, no but it has some of the same runes on it was the wand. "So they must go together."

"But why would they be put together to begin with? What would putting them together do?"

Daeran picked up the stone and wand bringing them close to one another. "They feel connected. I can feel the same magic around both of them, But something feels off."

"How?" I asked

He shook his head "I'm not sure. I feels like something is missing. Like these are just pieces of a puzzle."

"But we don't know what the other piece is or if there is more than one piece missing." Lord Elrond said coming through the door.

"So we should find the missing pieces" Daeran said excitedly. "No" Lord Elrond said sharply. "You both should be returning back to Helms Deep. I don't want you searching for something you don't understand."

"But Ada whatever this is, it called to me for a reason I can't just ignore it"

"you mean in your snooping you found it." Daeran blushed "I know it's hard to understand Ada, but I have to do this, something inside me is telling me I have to do this."

I couldn't say I agree completely with either Daeran or Lord Elrond. They both made very good points. I didn't want Daeran getting to much into this.

I guess you could say I was scared something bad would happen to him, but I had to trust him. Wasn't that what a relationship was about Trust. Lord Elrond sighed "Please stay away from this Daeran, I don't want you getting hurt." Daeran sighed

"I'm sorry Ada, but I can't" With that Daeran grabbed the wand and stone and left the room. "Look after him Legolas, he is so headstrong and rushes into things,"

"I will sir, you didn't have to ask me to know I will always be there for him"

I made my way towards Daeran's room where I knew he would be. He was on the bed examining the objects. "He doesn't understand" Daeran said in a somber voice. "He is your father, he has a right to worry."

"Yes, but he has never let me do anything" "You know that's a lie, he let you be apart of this war even though he knew he could lose you" Daeran sighed he knew I was right. "We have to find the other pieces"

"Why do you want to find them so badly? What are you trying to prove?" Daeran looked at me for the first time since I entered the room.

"It's something I can't describe, something deep in me that's telling me to do this. Maybe I just want want to prove to Ada that I can do something big. Something beyond me and him and everyone else. I'm the only one that can do this."

I made my way to the bed and sat beside him bringing him closer to me. He leaned against my side, resting his head on my shoulder. I kissed the top of his head.

"You are not alone in this my love, we will do this together."

.......................

"Maybe the reason you can't feel anything is because it isn't here" Daeran gave me a strange look. "What do you mean it isn't here?"

"What I mean is it isn't in this world, but the world they originally came from" Daeran's eyes went wide. "Of course I'm so stupid. I should have known that was why I couldn't feel anything. The pieces are from that other world."

I smirked "So what are you going to do about it?" Daeran paused

"We have to go there." My smirk faded into more of a shocked look. "Ooook, But even if we could find them, how do you expect us to get there?"

Daeran's face fell again. "I...I'll be right back." With that Daeram ran out the room. I decided to stay where I was knowing Daeran would just be running around.

About an hour later Daeran returned. I put down the book I had been reading and made my way towards him. "What did you find?"

"A spellbook" Daeran said innocently. I raised an eyebrow. "Are you going to do what I think you're going to do?"

"Well if what you think i'm going to do is find a spell to take us to the other world than, yes." Why am I not surprised.

 "Alright let's do this."

"Wait, now we're doing this now?"

"ove course, we need to do this as quickly as possible."

After many failed attempts, Daeran stopped. He was panting heavily by the end and I had to half carry him to a nearby chair.

"I...I'm not strong enough. I need help. I...I need to call Radagast, he can help me. But I don't know if that will be enough." We stayed in silence thinking, while Daeran recovered his strength. "I mean Radagast is a strong wizard and you can help"

"Me? No Daeran you know I cannot perform magic"

"Yes , I know but you must call upon the Valar and ask for strength and help for our journey. I will be to busy, the Valar will give us strength."

I rubbed Daeran's back as he leaned against me. "When would you like to contact Radagast?"

"As soon as possible." I nodded my head

"Than we better get to writing"
